Our washing machine makes a lot of noise when it is spinning. it sounds like a bearing or something is going bad. Murray O Answer You can remove the access panel on the back of the washer, and inspect the tub bearing from there. Look for signs of a leak around it, also rotate the tub by hand, and see if there is dragging with the tub. 2 people found this answer helpful.

Kathi for Model Number MLG2000AWW Answer Kathi, There are a couple of possibilities, The motor mount bushings could be worn and allowing the motor to rock or shift position which would cause the belt to "shift on the main pulley and rub the tub.
You didn't mention any abnormal noises (rumbling, growling or thumping) when the washer spins, this would indicate a worn out tub bearing or spider assembly, this could allow the tub to shift back and forth and the belt would shift on the drive pulley. The spinner support arm (AP4324795) has bonded to the bearings in the outer tub assembly (AP4028180). There are three fasteners in the spinner arm connecting it to the stainless steel spinner (AP4373453). How do I remove these 3 fasteners to install the replacement spinner support arm I have ordered? I cannot find a unitized laundry center to fit the closet (72"h x 27"w) so the repair looks better than the remodel.
Bruce for Model Number MLG2000AWW Answer Hello Bruce, You will have to separate the spin basket from the outer tub assembly. Sometimes this can be difficult if possible at all since, if the unit is run for too long with failed bearings, the metal gets hot enough to "weld" these parts together and the outer tub will be damaged during the attempt to disassemble. In this case, the spinner support assembly and the outer tub assembly will both require replacement.
