The tubing from the valve to the fresh water has split and is leaking in the back of the fridge. Can you tell me what nut , compression union & hose size I need to splice in a new section. Thanks, Tommy Tommy for Model Number TFX27ELB Answer Tommy, the water supply line from the shut off to the refrigerator fill valve is usually 1/4 inch plastic or copper tubing, you apparently have plastic tubing, and the W10823511 water tube kit should be more than necessary to do a repair.
To connect the tubes, you have options as well. Most servicers would use the "john guess" 1/4"X1/4" water connector union, they're a lot easier to work with, but the WP2198677 1/4"X1/4" nylon coupler and self sealing ferrel nuts, is still available should you choose. Was this helpful? Note: This question is for the older version of this part, but we thought you might still find it helpful I have replaced the old water valve with P/N W10408179 which now works well, but the valve was not needed as the problem was not valve related.
After much trial and error, I found the water line to the ice maker was frozen. After applying heat very carefully, and blowing through the line, water flows freely once again. I want to reinstall the old valve, but cannot find the right plastic replacement nuts to attach the lines back into the old valve. There are two plastic male inlets and one metal 1/4" inlet that comes from the filter. The plastic inlets for the ice maker and water dispenser are 1/4" and 5/16".
Should I attempt to use brass fittings for the repair against my better judgement? Do you have a fix for this problem? Jack for Model Number GS6SHAXKQ02 Answer Hello Jack. If the fill tube was frozen the old valve is bad thus the reason it is frozen. Was this helpful?
