During the busiest evenings/weekends, there's usually a spot within a block or two at most although sometimes you may have to circle the block a couple of times--something usually comes available because the turnover is high. We love our location in Carytown with its eclectic mix of locally owned shops, restaurants, the historical and MAGNIFICENT Byrd Theatre (movie theater from the silent-movie era), coffee shops, book stores, and street entertainers.
Mostly within walking distance or minutes by car or bus you'll find museums, parks, the James River and its hiking/biking trail system, historic sites, Hollywood Cemetery, VCU, The Fan, Richmond Convention Center, downtown Richmond, MCV, Brown's Island, Belle Isle, the Manchester district, Church Hill ... too many to mention. We are smack dab in the heart of the most vibrant part of the city! For food, fun and interesting things to see and do, make sure you check out our GUIDEBOOK/MAP! Carytown: Diverse! Convenient! The flat was clean, tidy and well presented.
Everything was set up and laid out upon arrival. The recommendation of "don't look back" for food was great and cheap - the tacos are phenomenal! A pleasant one night stay. Adam2015-08-12T00:00:00Z Stayed here for an evening just before taking a flight out of the Richmond airport the next day. Everything was great! Listing was just as described. This neighborhood will be absolutely gorgeous in the full bloom of Springtime! Fiona was great and readily available should we have needed anything. We would definitely stay again! Kathleen2016-03-11T00:00:00Z We had such a great anniversary vacation in Richmond! We were really surprised by all of things there were to see and do in this great city, and we loved having this cute, cozy apartment to come back to after a day of exploring.
Fiona helped us plan a route around the city that covered all of the sights we were interested in plus several that we didn't even know about. She also had the apartment well stocked with everything we needed to feel at home, and she posted clear directions around the apartment that made everything easy to operate. The apartment was very clean and tidy, and wonderfully decorated. Joe2015-07-08T00:00:00Z can't beat the location if you want to be close to Cary Street, but want a quiet space.
Nice residential street, good bathroom, shower, and kitchen, the bed is very comfortable, and Fiona even supplied a carafe of orange juice! chuck2014-04-08T00:00:00Z Fiona & Family made this a wonderful place to stay in RVA. The apartment was very clean, well stocked with linens and cookware and very comfy. The kitchen was easy to use and there was fresh OJ (which made great mimosas) in the fridge on arrival.
Fiona was very understanding about our late arrival. The location was great -- including being right next to the best doughnut bakery I have ever eaten at! The bed was super comfortable, the wifi worked well. Overall we were super happy with our stay, would stay here again and were happy to have met Fiona/Keith.
