A strong smell is normal.
The oven heats up to over 900 degrees Fahrenheit during the self-cleaning process, burning any food residue to a fine ash that the owner wipes away after the process. The smell itself comes from the oven's coating, which releases fumes as it heats up. These fumes are only toxic to birds, but many homeowners find them unpleasant. Do fabric softener sheets damage dryers? Fabric softener sheets won't damage a dryer, but they do reduce the machine's efficiency.
The sheets contain a small amount of fabric softener that, when heated, penetrates clothing. However, it also leaves residue behind in the dryer. This residue can get stuck in the lint filter and reduce circulation. This then makes it harder for the machine to dry clothes and increases the risk of overheating. What prevents a clothes dryer from generating heat? There are several possible reasons for why a clothes dryer isn't generating heat: The lint filter is blocked.
A surprising amount of people don't realize their dryer's lint filter must be cleaned before every cycle. The location of the filter varies depending on the machine's model. The thermal fuse has blown. This mechanism prevents the machine from overheating. Aside from the lint filter trap, a broken thermal fuse is the most common cause of malfunctioning dryers. There's no way to repair a broken fuse - it must be replaced.
The heating element burned out. This device warms the air before it enters the dryer drum. Like the thermal fuse, it cannot be repaired and must be replaced if broken. The air vent hose is bent, damaged, or clogged with lint not caught by the filter. This obstructs the airflow, making it difficult for clothes to dry.See Also: First Bank Wichita Falls

7 1079 S Graham RdGreenwood, IN 46143 (317) 888-4541 Had a front load washing machine issue, was flashing two different error codes. Tried to fix myself and the error codes continued. Called Whirlpool and they set up an appointment with Groves App Repair. I was lucky to get Sean as my tech, he called and gave me 20 min heads up he was on his way. Once he was here, he was very professional, extremely thorough, and not only solved my problems but also told me what to look for should something like this happen again.
I was completely impressed and appreciative of the service. Easy 5 stars and will absolutely utilize Groves for any future problems. Thanks!! Our extended service plan from HHGregg covered the services necessary to repair our nearly new Kitchenaid refrigerator. The technician was punctual, polite and knowledgeable. He offered to wear booties while inside our home, asking kindly to use paper towels and such.
I can't speak to their prices due to ours being covered by the protection plan, but their services are top notch! I've used them before but I was shocked at the rudeness of the woman who answered the call this time around. I had set up an appointment between 2 and 6 for a service call and asked that they call just before coming. I took a half day off work just to be home. I was home at 12:30. The repairman man showed up at 12 and left a note.
When I called the office about the reason for their coming early, she said they were in the area and left because no one was home. I asked why they didn't call ahead to confirm whether I would be home earlier. The snappy-voiced shrew said that she'd given him the wrong number so there was no way he could call ahead. I said that on my part, I was waiting at 12:30 for a service call between 2 and 6.
At that point, the liar insisted that the repairman showed up again at 2 and rang the doorbell and knocked. I called out her lie because at 2, I was in the front of the house talking to the landscaper. At 2:15, I was talking to the painter who will be doing the exterior. I've liked the work done by Groves, but the psycho at the phone put me off from trusting this company ever again. Had my dryer fixed by Groves.
2 different repairmen had to come out on different days because they had to order a part. Both guys were incredible friendly and they got it fixed. They were both really respectful of my home. I'd recommend them 100%! STOP. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. I asked them a week ago to be sure they had the parts before they came...we knew we needed the whole freon system replaced (the first company we had out did not do this kind of work, but told us what we needed and that is should be around $900).
So a week later, the lady at Groves says he's on his way and has the parts. Well, he shows up, and tells me that he just called his boss while walking in to find out what this would cost and was told $1600 PLUS PARTS. Did I mention that we have a gate on our neighborhood? So we got the "gate price". He said it takes 2 guys a half day, in other words, they charge $200 per hour, per man? Maybe at 8 in the morning I just LOOK dumb.
Oh, and NOW he tells me there is a $80 charge just to show up. We sent him packing and did not pay him a dime. He was here for 10 minutes, and they wasted 7 days while I had no refrigerator. Now I called another company who looked up the parts and with labor it is going to be $844 plus tax. Does Groves sound like anyone you want to work with? Call someone else. My service was over a year ago but worthy of a review.
My dishwasher wasn't working properly and I had called a "recommended" service from Angie's List. The guy came out, cleaned a couple things, charged me and left. After washing the dishes, it was clear he fixed nothing. I called Groves and told them the same information I had told the other guy and their repairman quickly took a couple things apart and pulled out the chopper, which was broken and causing my problem.
The first repairman I used was too lazy to even try. I will use Groves for all my future work. I have also recommended them to my friends with positive results. Set up an appointment with Groves through the Maytag web site. Could not be happier with the service! Appointment was between 8 and noon. The Serviceman called at 7:30 that he was on his way and arrived right at 8. He quickly identified the issue, ran to get a part and completed the job in no time at all.
I liked the way he explained what was wrong, what might go wrong in the future and gave me the choice as to whether to fix it now, or take my chances. Service charge plus 3 parts costs me less than $200 - well worth it to get my dryer working again. I would definitely use them again,
