I do not know a thing about orthodontics or Herbst, but it occurs tome that Janeth Dreweth may have madeth up the wordeth "Herbst" whentalkethingeth abouteth someth recipeth.(PS- This is how she writes to this newsgroup ~ I still have no ideawhy)Joel Hello. I'm new here but was wondering if I could get another opinion. Mydaughter (13 yo) has overcrowding on top, a missing permanent tooth onbottom, an overbite and needs braces.
The orthodontist told us herecommended using a Herbst Appliance and Expander for a year to make room ontop for her two teeth to come in and move her bottom jaw forward to correctthe overbite. He wanted to try the Herbst first before pulling teeth on topand moving her top teeth back some to correct the overbite. The only thingwas there was no guarantee the Herbst would work for sure and we may end upjust pulling teeth in the end if it doesn't work.
Has anyone had anyexperience with the Herbst and can give me the pros and cons of using this.I would hate for her to have to go through it if it wasn't going to work forher, yet on the other hand, if it did work, it sounds like a good plan. Thanks in advance.Andi Click to expand... --Joel M.
